OF THE MONTH
OTM (Of the Month) Awards are an easy, simple and awesome way for you to recognize leaders and programs on Miami's campus that make living on-campus an awesome experience. Nominations must be submitted by midnight on the 1st of the month following the month of nomination (e.g. October OTM nominations are due on November 1st at midnight).
Winners are selected by a group of NRHH members each month. The winners of each category are then sent on to the NRHH National Office for regional and national winner selection.
Tips for Writing Outstanding OTMs
- Make sure your OTM is month-specific. Only mention information about the specific month. If possible, use dates in your descriptions.
- Be specific and includes details. Aspire to max out the OTM word count!
- OTMs have to focus on activities that impact the residence hall community and making living on-campus great.
- Include how the individual or the program went above and beyond throughout the month of nomination.
- Since these OTMs can go on to the regional and national level, please make sure to explain Miami-specific terms (e.g. what it means to be an RA at Miami; what is a First Year Adviser).
- Please make sure to submit your OTM in the correct category.
