Categories of OTMs

Advisor refers to the advisor of a student organization. This could be the advisor of a Community Council or any other student organization on campus. Make sure to focus the impact s/he makes in the lives of students as an advisor.

Community recognizes the contributions of residential and working communities. Any residential life community is eligible (e.g. corridors, halls, quads, executive boards, RA staffs, etc.). Residence life organizations may not be nominated for this award.

Executive Board Member refers only to executive board members of residence life organizations (e.g. Residence Hall Association, National Residence Hall, Community Council) are eligible. Executive Board members of individual other organizations can be nominated for the Student OTM.

National Communications Coordinator refers to the Residence Hall Association's Leadership Director and his work with CAACURH and NACURH.

Organization recognizes an outstanding residence life organization (such as an RHA, NRHH Chapter or Community Council), not an outstanding member. Nominations should be organization specific and not concentrate on the efforts of a few individuals.

Resident Assistant refers to an undergraduate/graduate student who lives with residents in order to build and facilitate community. Resident Assistants typically do not supervise a staff.

Programs can be nominated in the following categories: Community Service, Diversity, Educational and Social.

Spotlight recognizes the efforts of people, who do not fall into any other categories. The nominee can therefore not be an organization advisor, executive board member, resident assistant or student. Possible nominees include housekeeping staff members, dining hall staff, advisory council members, etc.

Student is intended for a student leader who puts forth special effort. Please note that Residence Life Organization Executive Board members, advisors and resident assistants are not eligible for this award.
